04-01-10 - Test proceeding well for Pat McDougall and East Coast Racing in Almeria
30-01-2010
Dan Linfoot and I are at Alicante airport waiting for a delayed flight back to the snowy NW UK having spent the day today with Pat, Gary Johnson and Phil Reed's East Coast Racing at Almeria. This was day 3 of their 4 day test and the weather has been kind, giving plenty of opportunity for testing.
Pat is focusing on getting settled with the FIM spec R1 that he will be riding in BSB this season. Phil Reed and East Coast Racing are providing plenty of track time and Pat is continually improving his lap times as the test progresses and he gets used to the bike.
Gary Johnson is in Almeria testing his Supersport R6 that he is riding as part of his and the team's road programme for 2010. The first race will be the NW200 and at this early stage of winter testing, Gary is pleased with his pace on the bike.
After the last day of of the test tomorrow, the team will prepare for the next stage of their winter programme which is time at Portimao at the beginning of February.
Photos from the test so far are in the gallery here. The track event is being run by "Bike Promotions" from Germany and the format includes races at the end of some days. Yesterday Pat and Gary took part and a grid photo is included.
