16-01-10 - Leon Camier and Dan Linfoot sever Julian Clark connections
30-01-2010
The 2009 British Superbike Champion Leon Camier and British Superbike Championship rider Dan Linfoot have severed all connections with their personal trainer Julian Clark.
This follows the news that Richard Baker who sponsors Dan Linfoot, is pursuing legal action against Mr Clark to recover a £45,000 debt that has not been repaid. This debt relates to a loan provided by Mr Baker to Mr Clark to start a business trading in motocross bikes. Grand Prix racer Bradley Smith's father Allan Smith, also is owed money by Mr Clark relating to a similar debt and both these situations follow a legal battle earlier last year between Richard Balfour-Lynn, the hotel millionaire, and Mr Clark over alleged similar unpaid loans (see newspaper coverage here)
Mr Clark was a successful motocross rider before running the Linda McCartney Pro Cycling Team (see photo in gallery here), set up to promote vegetarianism and healthy eating but which collapsed under a financial cloud in 2001 (see newspaper coverage here). He has more recently acted as a physical trainer.
