Changable weather at Silverstone dictated the outcome of the weekend:
Dan continued his run of good results, culminating with a stunning ride in race 2. Practice and qualifying had been a process of learning the new circuit and then pushing in Roll for Pole achieving 7th place and row two of the grid. Race one start was difficult but Dan had raced his way back to 7th and was looking strong when a red flag for rain forced a restart. The restarted wet race did not go quite so well but a 10th place finish set up events for race 2. In a wet race 2 Dan's bike would not start on the grid resulting in a pit lane start. Dan demonstrated his capabilities on the Superbike carving through the field from dead last to finish 6th in a shortened 10 lap race. Onwards to the last three races of this season at Oulton Park with Dan in confident mood and looking for a podium.
Christian joined GNS Racing for a round of the British Supersport Championship having raced in WSS at Silverstone earlier this year. The weekend was building well and Christian qualified 12th for the race. However in the wet race Christian's visor became unusable and Christian could not see to race. Christian had to take the decision to pull out. Hopefully it will be possible to ride with GNS at the final Oulton Park round. News soon.
Pat is looking to finish the season by winning the Supersport Cup Championship with East Coast Racing. However, another piece of bad luck this weekend is bringing the Championship down to the wire at Oulton Park. In the wet race on Sunday Pat was taken out at the first corner by a series of crashes in front of him destroying the bike and injuring Pat's foot. After medical attention it looks to be likely that Pat can ride at Oulton and the team are working flat out to build a bike from scratch for the race weekend. In the Cup competition you can discount three race results and with this in mind Pat is joint leader of the Championship with Dan Kneen going into the last round. It is going to be an exciting end to the season.
Martin and TAG Triumph had a difficult weekend fighting with setup through practice and qualifying culminating with an oil cooler leak. The resulting 38th place on the grid for the race was always going to make the race difficult and Martin finished 28th. Martin is now fully focused on 2011 and building on the big step forward he has taken this year moving from 2 to 4 stroke racing, by putting together a ride for either Superstock 600 or British Supersport.
