BSB Rd 5 Mallory Park. Race Day Sunday.

01-07-2010

Dan, Christian and Pat did not really have the race results that they wanted from Mallory.

Dan had a DNF and a 14th place finish in his two races. A difficult start in race one left Dan fighting his way back through the field then to be taken out from behind by Martin Jessop. Subsequently starting 16th on the grid in race two Dan again started to progress through the field but was not able to hold those gains and moved back to 14th at the finish.

From 19th on the grid for the restart after the crash, a good start saw Christian move into the top 15 as he held on to 15th and a Championship point for the first third of the race. On lap 11, he moved up to 14th but by lap 20 Christian had moved back to 16th place and this became 17th when Tom Tunstall overhauled him on the penultimate lap. The second race followed a similar pattern as Christian battled hard to get into the points but finished 16th.

Pat was still suffering from his road crash but fought hard during the race finishing 18th overall from 25th on the grid but 5th in the Cup competition. However, Pat moves up in the Cup Championship table to 2nd place only one point behind Dan Kneen.

The next BSB round is at Knockhill this coming weekend.
