BSB Rd 8 Brands Hatch GP
10-08-2010
Overall we were lucky with the weather for the weekend and the big Brands Hatch event went well. For Dan, Pat and Martin it was different outcomes and another round out for Christian although he is expecting to be back in the paddock soon and has more WSS wildcard plans.
Dan had the chance this weekend to work with Frankie from Sterilgarda Yamaha, Leon Camier and his manager Andy Walker, as well as the Rob Mac Racing team. This helped give additional advice to Dan who came away from the weekend feeling that he has taken another step forward is his first year of Superbikes. In race one on Saturday (of the 3 race weekend) Dan finished 13th in a race stopped and restarted for rain and put in a strong lap that qualified 8th for race 2. A good start in race two on Sunday and Dan was running competitively in 5th position when the race was red flagged for a series of crashes including Andrew Pitt. The restart did not go so well but a 9th place finish having been competitive with the front runners gave confidence. Unfortunately a mechanical / electrical problem from the start of the 3rd race prevented Dan from completing the race.
Pat had a great race. Having chased set up all weekend Pat and East Coast Racing achieved a good set up for the race enabling Pat to be competitive. Pat achieved another race win in the cup competition and was a strong 10th in the overall event.
Martin moved forward again and finished 12th in the Superstock 600 race. Another big step forward. Martin moves on to the Cadwell round anticipating a top ten finish and is on target to be with the front runners before the end of the season. Good progress for Martin and the TAG Triumph team.
