Motorpoint are hosting the official launch this Friday, of the Motorpoint Yamaha Team. The event is open to all and Motorpoint have issued the following press release.
Motorpoint to host only public appearance by Hodgson ahead of start to BSB
Legendary motorbike rider Neil Hodgson will make his only public appearance ahead of his return to British Superbikes at Motorpoint Derby next Friday.
Hodgson, who returns to the UK after a decade racing in Moto GP, World Superbikes and more recently Amercian Superbikes, is leading a two-pronged assault on the title by the car supermarket giant with former British Supersport and European Superstock rider Dan Linfoot.
They will be riding the 2009 BSB championship-winning works R1s this season, which are almost identical to those that Leon Camier and James Ellison secured 22 race victories with last season.
Both riders and their bikes together with racing legend Niall MacKenzie will be at Motorpoint for their only public appearance before the start of British Superbikes 2010 at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend. For 2010 StoneBaker Racing sponsored four riders in the British Superbike Championship. Dan Linfoot, Christian Iddon, Pat McDougall and Martin Glossop.
Dan signed for his second year with premier team Rob Mac Racing Yamaha and made the step up to compete his first full Superbike season.
Christian moved from supermoto to focus on his short circuit racing career in 2010 and competed British Superbike initially with the SMT team.
Pat joined East Coast Racing full time for 2010 competing in his and the team's, first full year in the British Supersport Championship.
Martin progressed from 125cc to 600cc racing for 2010 in British Superstock 600 with TAG Triumph.
